London

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 31, 2005, 3:11 AM
Life is weird.
I've made a huge investment in going to London, and when I got here the prospects seemed pretty bright. I had established a contact at Channel 4, and through that contact I established another contact at a magazine here in the UK. The stage seemed set for me to start a little illustration work but things are going slow on that front.

So I sent out dozens and dozens of resumes (or "CV's") and contacted the recruiters. No responses from them (aside from rejections) and the surly recruiters just seem like a bunch of assholes I wouldn't want to be working through anyway.

The situation seemed dire. But then, a HUGE twist in the road. A company in California calls me up and is amazingly enthusiastic about me and wants to fly me in for an interview and really wants me to work for them. I would be the company's photographer.

Well. Now every day goes by so slowly because I'm so anxious and excited. There's a lot on my mind as well because making rent this month here in London won't be easy. I also have commitments with my current contacts and I want to keep them happy. I'm eagerly anticipating the California thing but I love London - and not just because the girls here really seem to like me.

This is going to be an interesting month, and it's also the final month of my year of traveling. Hopefully the connclusion will be a good one.

Hmm, I originally wanted to have my username as 'introversion', but it was already taken. I decided to see who had already taken the name and I have to say that I'm glad I did. I think your panoramic shots are phenomenal! Keep up the good work :)

Make sure you come to Queensland next trip to Australia, there is some great scenery, completely different to Victoria.

Damn, really miss the comment preview thingy, :P I meant *katsarloki of course.

Great shots you got! I'd love to know how far you got on the Great Ocean Road. I did it on a trip from Adelaide to Melbourne and thought it was breathtaking.
